May 11: Officers Need To Obey Traffic Laws
RANT: I realize law enforcement officers have a difficult job and most of us never know, or would want to know, about the crazy things they have to endure. However, in the last four weeks I have witnessed several law enforcement vehicles from varied agencies, including the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Smith County Sheriff's office, traveling at excessive speeds with no lights flashing down the highways around East Texas.
Some of these I have followed back to their headquarters, restaurants or was unable to keep up with them to see what their destination might be.
Is it really too much to ask that our law enforcement officers obey the same traffic laws that they hold us accountable?
