May 11: Pit Bull Politics
REPLY: Read Jean W. Johnson’s reply to my pit bull letter. The answer to the problem is to insist that your state government enact legislation to solve the problem.
Don’t you wish you could live in my fantasy world? Dog lovers would be up in arms in a second, and the timid folks in Austin would wilt like a dry flower.
Unfortunately, the timid folks in Austin are going to wait until a child is killed by pit bulls or some other “junk yard” dog, before any action is taken.
Anybody want to volunteer your kid?

The average voter reads stories about dog attacks, thinks someone ought to do something, then promptly forgets it. Write your state officials.
