Gohmert Receives 'A In English' Award
Congressman Louie Gohmert, R-Tyler, has received the "A in English" award from U.S. English, Inc., a group dedicated to "preserving the unifying role of the English language in the United States."

Gohmert was a co-sponsor of H.R. 997, the English Language Unity Act, and he has consistently voted to allow employers to enact English-in-the-workplace policies.

"Since our nation's founding, the many cultures that make up the United States have helped to develop this country into a strong world leader," Gohmert said. "However, for our nation to remain intact we must have a common, unifying thread running through it, and the common thread that has and will strengthen unity among our diverse population is the English language."
