‘Smell the Flowers’ Spotted Contest Won By Slimmest Of Margins
Tammy Anderson of Brownsboro has done it again.
For the second time, she was the winner of a Spotted photo contest. This one, held throughout April, was titled “Smell the Flowers.” This time, she won by the slimmest of margins: one-one-hundredth of a point.
For the second time, she was the winner of a Spotted photo contest. This one, held throughout April, was titled “Smell the Flowers.” This time, she won by the slimmest of margins: one-one-hundredth of a point.
Anderson’s photo of her daughter Madison received an average rating of 9.62 on a scale of 10 from 16,255 TylerPaper.com readers who posted a rating by the contest deadline of 5 p.m. CDT on April 30.
“Madison is in the first grade at Brownsboro Elementary,” Mrs. Anderson wrote in an e-mail. “She is my only daughter after having three grown sons, and the pride and joy of her grandparents C.T and Fran Osborn of Brownsboro and Bob and Sherree Anderson of Emory, Texas.
“The photo is one of many I have taken of her in the Bluebonnets. Since she was 6 months old, I have taken her every spring to have Bluebonnet photos made for relatives that live in Michigan,” she wrote. “This photo was taken on the side of a country road outside of Kaufman.
2nd Place
“I am anticipating the arrival of my first granddaughter in July, so I hope when Emma Elise Hargrave arrives, this can become a tradition with her as well,” Mrs. Anderson continued.
“I love the smile on Madison’s face, as well as how blue her eyes are next to the Bluebonnets and her wrinkled little bare toes in this photo.”
Finishing second was a photo submitted by You Spotted user “krislee.” The photo received an average rating of 9.61 from 10,769 voters. The second-place finisher did not respond to a request from TylerPaper.com for more information about the photo.
Third place went to a photo submitted by Serena Booth, who lives with her husband Lynn and their two daughters northwest of Tyler. Pictured is their 7-year-old daughter Aimee Booth, who was photographed March 22 by Shelly Little.
3rd Place
“She loves her horses, singing and dancing along with Hannah Montana, and riding with her daddy on his motorcycle,” Mrs. Booth wrote about her daughter in an e-mail. “We are ever so grateful to have her and her big sister in our lives.”
A model, Mrs. Booth recently decided to try “the other side of the camera, and I love it,” she wrote.
“You Spotted (on TylerPaper.-com) has given me a chance to share my photos, as well as inspired me.”
Photo contests will return to Spotted in June, when a new contest engine is expected to be in place on the Web site.
In response to user comments, the new Spotted contest engine will allow one vote per day, per computer.
