May 10: Bring Your Own
Paper or plastic? A recent editorial touted the advantages of plastic over paper. My answer is "Neither."
A simple, easy, cheap solution is bringing your bags. Nylon, mesh, canvas, sturdy plastic - they all work. Local grocery stores sell them for $1. Bringing your own reusable bags has great environmental savings in the use of resources, energy, litter and landfill space.
Come on, folks. Make this simple lifestyle change. Do it for our home, planet Earth. Do it for your grandchildren.
