Early voting returns have been released and the results show Barbara Bass has taken an early lead in the race for Tyler mayor.
Right now, Ms. Bass has 1,286 votes, or 60.04 percent of the total. Laura Corbett trails behind with 840 votes, or 39.22 percent. Keith Pyron is far behind the pack with 16 votes, or 0.75 percent.
The total number of votes cast in the early voting portion of the mayor’s race is 2,142.
The final vote count isn’t expected to be complete for another couple of hours, city officials say. The numbers above only reflect the votes cast during the early voting period. They are not final or conclusive.
