May 9: Stands Out
One candidate for mayor of Tyler stands out among those running. She has a proven record of serving all of us professionally, reliably and with positive response to our concerns. Laura Corbett's experience as a council member and mayor pro tem makes her the best prepared and best qualified for filling the position.
Her service on the half-cent sales tax board is one more asset beyond her volunteer participation with Heart of Tyler/Main Street and Historic Tyler. She believes in a sound, business approach to government and in making Tyler's downtown the vital hub the 21 Committee endorsed. She believes in preserving the beauty and historic tradition we are blessed to have while promoting economic growth.
As a member of the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce, its board and executive committee, Laura has given years of service as a promoter of Tyler.
Like the fine candidates who ran for and won the office of mayor of Tyler in the past, Laura, too, has that invaluable council experience. I encourage all potential voters seek her Web site for further information and vote for Laura Corbett for mayor.
