FISHING REPORT

NORTHEAST
ATHENS: Water stained, 69-76 degrees; 0.37' high. Black bass are good on buzzbaits early, midday switching to Carolina rigs and crankbaits. Crappie are fair to good on jigs and minnows. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers.

BOB SANDLIN: Water off color; 70-77 degrees; 0.23' high. Black bass are fair to good on Stanley Ribbits, buzzbaits and topwaters early, and throughout the day on Texas rigs, Senkos and jigs. Crappie are good on live minnows and jigs some shallow and some moving to deeper water. White bass are fair to good on topwaters and Rooster Tails. Catfish are fair to good on cut and prepared bait.

BRIDGEPORT: Water lightly stained; 68-73 degrees; 0.35' high. Black bass are fair to good on buzzbaits, Rat-L-Traps and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair to good on jigs and minnows over brush piles. White bass are good on slabs and Humdingers. Hybrid striper are fair to good on live bait and Sassy Shad. Catfish are good on cut and prepared bait.

CADDO: Water stained; 69-74 degrees; 0.58' high. Black bass are fair to good on Texas rigged Beaver Tails, Senkos and Scum Frogs. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on Humdingers and Road Runners. Yellow bass are fair on jigs and shrimp. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and frozen shrimp.

RAY HUBBARD: Water stained; 68-74 degrees; 0.05' low. Black bass are fair to good on Stanley Ribbits, spinnerbaits and Texas rigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. RICHLAND CHAMBERS: Water off color; 69-74 degrees; 0.07' high. Black bass are fair to good on Spro Frogs, wacky rigs, Texas rigs and medium running shad pattern crankbaits. White bass are good on Humdingers and slabs. Hybrid striper are fair to good on slabs and live shad. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

TAWAKONI: Water lightly stained; 68-74 degrees; 0.34' high. Black bass are fair to good on white/chartreuse spinnerbaits, chrome Rat-L-Traps and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on Humdingers and slabs. Striped bass and hybrid striper are fair to good on topwaters, live shad and Sassy Shad. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

TEXOMA: Water off color; 67-72 degrees; 3.19' high. Black bass are fair to good on spinnerbaits, Rat-L-Traps, jerkbaits and Carolina rigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Striped bass are good on topwaters, Sassy Shad and live shad. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait, cut and live shad.

WEATHERFORD: Water stained; 68-74 degrees; 0.05' low. Black bass are fair to good on spinnerbaits, tubes and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on prepared bait and cut shad. White bass are good on Humdingers and slabs.

WRIGHT PATMAN: Water lightly stained; 69-74 degrees; 14.79' high. Black bass are fair to good on spinnerbaits, Texas rigs, Stanley Frogs and shallow running crankbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair to good on cut shad and nightcrawlers.


SOUTHEAST
CONROE: Water clear; 0.06' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red and chartreuse Carolina rigged soft plastics, and on white/green Rat-L-Traps. Striped bass are fair on silver striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and pink/white tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait, shrimp, and liver.

GIBBONS CREEK: Water clear. Black bass are good on watermelon red and plum soft plastics, and on white crankbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and green/white tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait, nightcrawlers, and shrimp.

HOUSTON COUNTY: Water clear; 75 degrees; 0.49' high. Black bass to 9 pounds are very good on watermelon soft plastics, and parrot and sunshine perch colored crankbaits near the dam in 612 feet. Crappie are very good on live minnows over brush tops near the pump station in 1020 feet. White bass are good along the northeast shore. Bream are good on live worms off piers and near grass beds. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with perch and shad.

LIVINGSTON: Water fairly clear; 75 degrees; 0.53' high. Black bass are good on crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on hellbenders, pet spoons, and Charlie slabs. Crappie are good on minnows. Blue catfish are excellent on shad. Yellow catfish are slow.

SAM RAYBURN: Water lightly stained; 71 degrees; 0.99' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red Senkos, lizards, and Brush Hogs. White bass are good on spoons. Crappie are good on minnows and tube jigs over brush piles. Bream are good on nightcrawlers and crickets. Catfish are good on trotlines baited with nightcrawlers.

TOLEDO BEND: Water clear; 71 degrees; 0.22' low. Black bass are good on chartreuse/blue and chartreuse/white soft plastics. Striped bass are fair on minnows and white striper jigs. White bass are fair on silver spoons and slabs in the river. Crappie are good on minnows and chartreuse jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait, cut bait, and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.


PANHANDLE
GREENBELT: Water lightly stained; 60 degrees; 26.97' low. Black bass are good on shad-colored crankbaits, white spinnerbaits and black/blue jigs worked along timber line, points and humps, and Carolina-rigged watermelon lizards over sandy humps and along grass lines. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on live baits and chrome jerkbaits along riprap. Smallmouth bass are good on live baits and white spinnerbaits along riprap. Walleye are good on shad-colored crankbaits and live baits. Catfish are good on live baits and cut shad.

MACKENZIE: Water lightly stained; 56 degrees; 73.21' low. Black bass are fair on live bait, red crawfish lipless crankbaits, and watermelon red soft plastics. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass and striped bass are good on minnows and red lipless crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are fair on live baits and jerkbaits. Walleye are fair on minnows. Catfish are fair on live and prepared baits.

MEREDITH: Water lightly stained; 57 degrees; 77.45' low. Black bass are fair on black/blue jigs and live baits off rocky points, and white spinnerbaits or live baits around timber. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on live bait, chrome jerkbaits and topwater lures. Smallmouth bass are fair on jerkbaits and live baits. Walleye are good on crankbaits and live baits along riprap and drop-offs. Channel catfish are good on live baits.

PALO DURO: Water lightly stained; 50 degrees; 57.75' low. Black bass are fair on live baits and white spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. Smallmouth bass are fair on live baits. Walleye are fair on live bait. Channel catfish are good on live baits.


WEST
ALAN HENRY: Water lightly stained; 69 degrees; 1.12' Black bass to seven pounds are good on black/chartreuse jigs, white spinnerbaits and green pumpkin soft plastics fished shallow along timber. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs.

ARROWHEAD: Water lightly stained; 66 degrees; 2.79' low. Black bass are good on swim-blade baits and spinnerbaits along rocky points and vegetation. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs at state park, Deer Creek Bridge, and shallow areas around flooded willows and mesquites with active spawning. White bass are good schooling off rocky points in the lower part of lake. Catfish are good on juglines and drift fishing with shad or punch bait.

COLORADO CITY: Water clear; 68 degrees; 4.49' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Catfish are slow.

FT. PHANTOM HILL: Water clear; 67 degrees; 1.51' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on live baits. Catfish are slow on live baits.

HUBBARD CREEK: Water lightly stained; 67 degrees; 2.82' low. Black bass are fair on minnows and red crawfish lipless crankbaits along points, or black/blue jigs worked along timber and reeds. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. White bass and hybrid striper are good on live baits and crankbaits along humps and points. Catfish are good on live baits.

NASWORTHY: Water lightly stained; 67 degrees. Black bass are fair on live baits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Redfish are fair. White bass and striped bass are fair on live baits. Catfish are fair on live and cut baits.

OAK CREEK: Water lightly stained; 67 degrees; 0.97' low. Black bass are fair on live baits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on live baits.

O.H. IVIE: Water lightly stained; 67 degrees; 10.24' low. Black bass are good on shad-colored spinnerbaits, crankbaits and live baits worked along humps and points and worked along tree lines. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on live baits and poppers. Smallmouth bass are good on live baits and shad-colored crankbaits. Channel catfish are good on live and cut baits.

POSSUM KINGDOM: Water stained 65 degrees; 0.89' low. Black bass are slow on white spinnerbaits on the north end near wood structures. White bass are slow on the north end off rock points with silver crankbaits. Catfish are slow on yellow jigs in mid-lake creeks.

SPENCE: Water lightly stained; 65 degrees; 49.65' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Striped bass and hybrid striper are slow. Catfish are slow.

STAMFORD: Water lightly stained; 64 degrees; 1.47' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White and striped bass are fair on live baits. Catfish are fair on live baits.

SWEETWATER: Water lightly stained; 63 degrees; 4.44' low. Black bass are slow on live baits. Crappie are slow on live baits and jigs. White bass are slow. Catfish are slow on live baits.

WHITE RIVER: Water lightly stained; 64 degrees; 31.85' low. Black bass are fair on black/blue large soft plastic tubes or jigs, white/chartreuse spinnerbaits, and live baits along stickups and rocky points. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. Walleye are good on live baits and crankbaits. Channel catfish are good on live baits.

WICHITA: Water turbid; 67 degrees; 1.80' low. Crappie are fair near pavilion pilings and off dam. White bass and hybrid striped bass are fair on minnows or live shad in front of the dry spillway area. Channel catfish are fair drift fishing with shad and on trotlines. Boat launching is difficult due to low water conditions.


COASTAL
NORTH SABINE: Trout and redfish are fair to good in the river on live shad under a popping cork. Flounder are fair in the cuts and drains of the marsh on shad, shrimp and jigs tipped with shrimp.

SOUTH SABINE: Trout are fair to good on the Causeway Reef on live shrimp and red shad and glow/chartreuse Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eel Jrs. Trout, redfish, black drum and flounder are good at night from the causeway pier on live shrimp and tandem speck rigs.

BOLIVAR: Trout are fair to good on the bay side of Rollover Pass on Little Fishies, Bass Assassins and MirrOlures. Trout are fair to good on the shorelines on topwaters, live shrimp and Corkies.

TRINITY BAY: Trout are fair to good on red shad and glow/chartreuse Bass Assassins, Sand Eels, Hogies and Trout Killers over deep shell. Black drum, gafftop, redfish and croakers are good on shrimp at the Spillway.

EAST GALVESTON BAY: Trout are good on scattered shell in six feet of water on pearl/chartreuse and strawberry/white Bass Assassins, Norton Sand Eels and live shrimp under a popping cork. Trout are fair to good at Hannas Reef on shrimp and red plastics when the wind allows.

WEST GALVESTON BAY: Trout are fair to good around Pelican Island on red, pumpkinseed and pearl/chartreuse Bass Assassins, Sand Eel Jrs, Trout Killers and live shrimp under a popping cork. Gafftop, sheepshead and sand trout are good on the beachfront on fresh dead shrimp.

TEXAS CITY: Trout and redfish are fair to good on live shrimp from the pier at the end of the dike. Gafftop are good on squid from the dike.

FREEPORT: Trout and redfish are fair to good and the backside of San Luis Pass on live shrimp and red shad and plum Bass Assassins, Hogies, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Flounder are good in Christmas Bay on mud minnows.

EAST MATAGORDA: Trout are fair on the south shoreline on She Dogs, Super Spooks and roach-colored or pumpkinseed Hogies, Trout Killers, Bass Assassins and Sand Eels. Redfish are fair to good in the bayous, guts and scattered shell pads on live shrimp and Gulps.

MATAGORDA: Trout are fair to good on the south shoreline on pumpkinseed/chartreuse, black/chartreuse and pepper/chartreuse Bass Assassins, Norton Sand Eels, Red Killers and Hogies. Redfish are fair to good around shell reefs and grassy shorelines on cracked crabs, live shrimp and topwaters.

PORT O'CONNOR: Trout are fair to good on live croakers around the reefs of Espiritu Santo Bay. Trout and redfish are good in the back bays and reefs of San Antonio Bay on roach-colored plastics and Gulps.

ROCKPORT: Trout are fair to good on croakers and topwaters at Traylor Island, Mud Island and Cedar Bayou. Redfish are good on the Estes Flats on live shrimp under a popping cork. Trout are fair to good at night from the piers on DOA Shrimp, Gulps and glow plastics.

PORT ARANSAS: Trout are good on the channel side of the North Jetty on live shrimp under a popping cork and red shad Bass Assassins, Sand Eels and Red Killers. Offshore is good for kingfish, snapper, sharks and yellowfin tuna.

CORPUS CHRISTI: Trout are good on the Portland shoreline on Top Dogs and live shrimp under a popping cork. Trout and redfish are fair to good around Pelican Island on croakers, live shrimp and Top Dogs.

BAFFIN BAY: Trout are fair to good in the Land Cut on live shrimp under a popping cork. Redfish are good around Yarborough on live shrimp and mullet. Trout and redfish are fair to good at the Tide Gauge Bar on live shrimp and pumpkinseed plastics.

PORT MANSFIELD: Trout and redfish are good while drifting the flats on red/white and black/chartreuse plastics and live shrimp. Trout and flounder are good on the flats adjacent to the Intracoastal on live shrimp.

SOUTH PADRE: Trout are fair to good at Laguna Vista on live shrimp under a popping cork, Gulps and DOA Shrimp. Trout, redfish, sheepshead, croaker, whiting and flounder are good at the jetty on live and fresh dead shrimp and squid.

PORT ISABEL: Trout are fair to good at Twin Bars on live shrimp under a popping cork and Hogies, Trout Killers, Sand Eels and Bass Assassins. Trout and redfish are good at Un-Necessary Island on live shrimp and pumpkinseed Sand Eel Jrs and Bass Assassins.
