May 7: Leadership Abilities
I don't know (only have met) Laura Corbett. This has nothing to do with her personally.

I was shocked to see members of the present Tyler city council public endorse Miss Corbett (in their official capacity). As individual citizens they have every right to so as they please. This was obviously not their intent; they used their official positions to gain more publicity and, I assume, they thought, more importance and impact.

They could very likely soon be working with Barbara Bass as their new leader, our mayor. What does that mean of their effectiveness as a council, who either work together or we, the taxpayers, suffer the consequence? Anyone not blessed with Barbara's ability to lead and pull together differing factions and ideas would end up having to start out behind the eight ball, and not due to their own fault or mistakes.

Barbara's Christian temperament will see her through, upon election. She will forgive and once again say, "Come, let us reason together." She will show her superb leadership abilities and we will be proud of our new face of Tyler, Barbara Bass, our mayor.

Now let's go out and get her elected and show our present councilmembers that despite their loyalty to a former councilwoman, we, a majority of the citizens of Tyler, know better who is the best leader - Barbara Bass.
