May 7: Maybe Everyman Needed For President
Sen. John McCain has a plan for helping everyone have health care. If I understand it, he wants to give a $5,000 tax credit for folks to buy their own policy.
I can see two things wrong with this. One is that some will take the tax credit and not buy a policy and then go to the emergency room for help not having money to pay.
The other reason is a lot of people who need health care do not make enough to pay taxes, so a tax credit would not help.
Am I looking at this right?
Maybe we need someone in Washington who is not a millionaire and knows how hard it is to pay the high prices on necessary items.
