May 4: Brief Relief
RELIEF: Our rebate check finally got here. Yes, it was in the mail after all. For several minutes I held it in my hand, basked in a warm, glow of gratitude to our government for their benevolence.
Then it hit me. Wait a minute. That is already my money. Anyway, by narrowing our selection of purchases to bread, milk and gas, I think we can make it last for at least a week or two.
