May 4: Fine Obituary
RESPECT: On Monday, April 28th, the Tyler Paper had an obituary for S.B. Barber.
First, let me say to the Barber family, I'm sorry for the loss of such an interesting and colorful person.
I never knew Mr. Barber until I read about him in the newspaper.
As far as I am concerned, that was the finest obituary I have ever read. Not about how old he was or how sick he'd been, not even a listing of his "life-long accomplishments," but how interesting he was with his yarn spinning and how loving he was with people, places and things. I like that. He got his "Atta boys" and I'll bet he would have approved the writings and descriptions completed.
Again, I'm sorry for your loss, but I thank you for your "descriptive' command of the English language. Sounds as if someone else is pretty colorful, too.
