May 1: Everywhere You Look, There's A Roadblock
There are so many questions concerning the price of oil/gas.
First we are told foreign oil is the reason for high prices. Should not the price of domestic oil help lower the price? But when I read in the paper that West Texas crude is selling for $119.33 per barrel, it is strange to me.
Then the major oil companies make record profits, such as Exxon/Mobile for the last couple of years making profits in the billions.
The next question was why, when diesel costs about 10 percent less to produce than regular gas, why is it selling for much more than regular? The answer we get is supply and demand. In other words, greed.
It also seems the major companies are trying to close all noncompany stations. If you look around in East Texas you will see more vacant stations than at previous times.
The politicians in New England prevent us from drilling in one of the richest fields in Alaska when the people who live in Alaska say, "Come on and drill." The politicians who represent Alaska are all for drilling in Alaska, so what can we do about that? It just seems there is something rotten in Denmark.
