April 27: Corbett Offers Knowledge Of City
My late husband, Don Pinkerton, was privileged to serve on the Tyler City Council with Laura Corbett in 1998 and 1999. Don often spoke of his respect for Laura's integrity, business sense and the fair-minded decisions she made during their service together.

Not only was Laura elected in 1998 for a two-year term, her exemplary service earned re-elections for two more terms in office. Laura served as city council member six years. Because of her proven ability she was chosen mayor pro tem from May 2002 to 2003.

Laura Corbett has served as a member of the city of Tyler Half Cent Sales Tax Board since May 2004. She has a proven desire to serve our city through her volunteer work with many committees and boards, and has received award recognition for her community service.

The city of Tyler will continue to experience tremendous growth, both within our city limits and outlying communities. We need someone with the knowledge of our city government and infrastructure. We need Laura Corbett as our mayor - experience does count!
