ACHIEVEMENTS
Sabrina Warr of Tyler will receive the Shining Star-Woman to Watch Award from the Greater Texas Chapter of Women in Cable Telecom-munications, the organization announced.

Ms. Warr is vice president of corporate accounting for Suddenlink Communications.

According to WICT information, she received the award for a consistent record of success, leadership and job excellence at the middle to senior management level. Awards will be presented during a June 12 event at the Westin Stonebriar Resort in Frisco.

Sharon Howell, president and owner of Travel Masters, was named a top producer by the travel consortium Virtuoso.

The company selected Travel Masters for its top growth in Virtuoso production on a year-over-year basis. Ms. Howell and other top-producing members were chosen for a weeklong luxury tour of India.

The Kirby Co. announced Coeli Romeo, owner of a Kirby Distributorship in Tyler, was recognized for reaching business goals by Kirby World Headquarters. The recognition is part of the company's Challenge of Champions-Learn, Grow, Achieve and Prosper campaign, a yearlong promotion in which distributors can be selected for prizes and trips for their outstanding performance.


NEW ASSIGNMENTS
Exceptional Home Care of Tyler announ-ced Valerie Ward, a Dallas regional community liaison, was promoted to director of therapy services.

Ms. Ward is a 2003 graduate of Texas Tech University and a Dallas resident.

Also, Zona Denise Martin Hamilton, a licensed vocational nurse, joined the staff. She resides in Gun Barrel City.

EHC provides pediatric home health care services to medically dependent children living at home in 33 North Central and East Texas Counties.

Rep. Chuck Hopson, D-Jacksonville, announced that Wendy Denver Dean was named district public affairs coordinator in the district office in Jacksonville. She will assist in preparation of legislative bills, aid constituents and manage the Henderson and Jacksonville offices.

She replaces Jenna Brooks, who took a position with the Crockett Chamber of Commerce.


PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Larry Goddard, executive director of the Tyler Independent School District Foundation, attended a workshop on the first national/state certification course in school foundation management in Friendswood and received certification, the district announced.

He was joined by other representatives from the state. Topics included leadership, operations, marketing, fundraising and support.

Dr. Luis G. Fernandez, chief of combined critical care units at Trinity Mother Frances Hospi-tals and Clinics, is a contributing author in a recently published trauma textbook.

He authored a chapter on tracheal, laryngeal and oropharyngeal injuries with Dr. Scott H. Norwood and Dr. John D. Berne as part of the book "Current Therapy of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care."

Windhorse Yoga Studio in Tyler announced Patty Kirkpatrick completed her certification in Restorative Yoga under Judith Hanson Lasater.

Ms. Kirkpatrick is a certified yoga instructor who has also studied under Amer-ican masters Baron Baptiste, Beryl Bender Birch, Seane Corn and Rod Stryker.

Price Arredondo will speak about the Hispanic Business Alliance and its purpose and objectives during the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce small business breakfast, 7:30 a.m. at Traditions restaurant. Admission is $9, which includes breakfast. The serving line will open at 7:15 a.m.
