April 26: Corbett's Experience Counts
Mayoral elections are around the corner in Tyler and I support Laura Corbett! Let me tell you why. I have known and worked with Laura since she appeared on the Tyler business scene many years ago. We have served together on boards and civic institutions, and I can personally attest to her ability to make rational and tough decisions for the good of Tyler.
Laura served as a Tyler City Council member three terms and served as Mayor Pro Tem. Experience does count!
Laura also served on the Tyler Half-Cent Sales Tax board from 2004 to present time. She believes strongly in the pay-as-you-go philosophy for the city. Tyler is virtually debt free because people like Laura have given time to serve on this important board. Managing sales tax dollars requires vision, experience and level-headed thinking.
Laura has the tenacity and leadership skills to lead Tyler during this phenomenal growth we enjoy today. She understands growth and the need to manage growth in a way that benefits our city while serving the community in a fair and balanced way. While growth in Tyler continues, Laura is an advocate for continued and ongoing economic development.
One of Laura's priorities is street repairs and traffic. We need immediate and sound leadership with these issues. Laura has always been proactive during her tenure on city council; she is a prudent business professional and enjoys an excellent reputation as a longtime Realtor in Tyler. She is well respected by her peers in both business dealings and city affairs. She has an innate ability to listen to both sides of an issue and make an informed and rational decision based on what is best for Tyler. You cannot meet a more compassionate or fair-minded individual who has given, and continues to give so much to our great city.
I ask your support in voting for a lady who will truly do best for Tyler.
