Athens' Hopper Winner In Art Contest
Athens High School senior Kevin Hopper was named the winner of the Texas division of the Wildlife Forever State-Fish Art Contest for 10th-12th graders.
Cali Stewart of Fort Worth was second and Kaitlin Andress, also an Athens senior, was third.
Trent Kelly, a ninth grader at Quitman High School, finished third in the seventh-ninth grade division.
To compete in the contest the students must draw a picture and write an essay about any officially recognized state fish.
Hopper will receive $1,000 toward his college fund. Andress was given $500. Kelly received a $50 bond.
