Falcon Lake Produces ShareLunker Bass
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department was hoping for a ShareLunker last weekend and it got one.
Instead of coming in the Toyota Texas Bass Classic on Lake Fork, the 14.25-pound bass was caught on the state's hottest big bass lake, Falcon.
Brandon Smith of Leander was fishing in seven feet of water Sunday when he caught the bass on a black emerald Monster ZOOM plastic worm.
The 25 1/2-inch long bass was only the 13th ShareLunker of the season and the second in two weeks off of Falcon Lake. Missouri pro angler Scott Campbell caught a 13.13 during a Bassmaster Elite Series tournament there April 3.
With the program closing April 30, Tyler's Brett Harris continues to have the largest ShareLunker of the season with the 14.5 he caught on Tyler State Park Lake.
Although there are only 13 ShareLunkers this year, they have come from 10 lakes. The only lakes with duplicates are Fork with three and Falcon with two.
