American Business Women's Association Honors Lyles As Business Associate

The Rose Garden Chapter, American Business Women's Association, honored Dr. Thomas W. Lyles as the Business Associate of the Year on April 14 at Traditions Restaurant in Tyler.
"Career advancement, education and community involvement is considered for this prestigious award," ABWA spokespersdon Cindy Waterman said.
Born in Fort Worth, Lyles received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University. After graduation, he spent one year of graduate work in veterinary pharmacology at TAMU, then decided to return to school so he could receive his medical degree. He received his M.D. degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch of Galveston in 1955, according to information supplied by the ABWA.
After internship, Lyles completed his residency in dermatology at Baylor University College of Medicine in Houston in 1959. He started private practice of medicine in Tyler and continues it to the present.
Lyles remains active in the Texas A&M Alumni organization; was past president of The Galveston A&M Club, membinueser of The Texas A&M Presidents Advisory Committee, and The 12-Man Advisory Committee. He was inducted into the Texas A&M Letterman's Association Hall of Honor in 1997, and received the Spirit Award of the Tyler Smith County A&M Club in 2002. He is also a charter member of the East Texas Chapter of The A&M Aggie Scholarship Club and a Life Member of the Smith County Medical Society and the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr. Lyles and his wife, Jean, have been married since 1955 and have five children and 17 grandchildren. They are members of Green Acres Baptist Church.
Dr. Lyles is a Christian and a political conservative who believes in the honor of hard work.
Dr. Lyles has given each of his employee's appreciation, and confidence. Through all of the years he has always been there for his employee's when they needed him. When they come in the office every morning, he greets them with Good Morning-glad to see you. In the afternoon it's always thank you for your help.
Dr. Lyles has the most giving heart of himself and wants nothing in return. He is strong in his faith, work ethics, and family. He is an inspiration to all who know him. His kindness and consideration of others inspires us to do better, as he always has a wonderful positive, caring attitude. He always shows trust and confidence that his employee's know how to do their job. Being an employee for Dr. Lyles is far more than a job, it is a true pleasure to come to work and be part of his team, as some of the team have been with him over thirty years. We really have the best opportunity anyone could have to work with and for Dr. Lyles. He is a true blessing to us and is very deserving of the Business Associate of The Year Award.
