The American Heart Association's annual Heart Gala, themed "Dancin' Through the Decades," is scheduled for 7 p.m.-midnight May 3 at Eagle's Bluff Country Club, 99 Eagle's Bluff Blvd., Bullard.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Z. Ornelas, local community philanthropists, are this year's honorary Heart Gala chairmen. This year's co-chairs are Jayme Fitzpatrick and Kelli Armstrong.

Because of community support, silent and live auction chair Heather Pickett and her committee have been able to put together live auction items that will help generate funds the evening of the Gala, which will then go back to the American Heart Association's programs and services, event spokesperson Kelly Haney said.

Some of the 2008 Heart Gala live auction packages are:

"A Whole New You" is a makeover package and is kick-started with a workout regimen for a 12-month membership to Woodcreek Athletic Club and includes personal training sessions. Then, the recipient can bronze up with a tanning membership. The package also includes a haircut and color, and a consultation and gift certificate with Dr. Jayson Terres of Tyler Oral & Facial Surgery Center.

Beachside Getaway is a family vacation in Old Seagrove Beach, Fla., and includes a four-day, three-night stay in luxury at a five bedroom, five-bath home, just yards away from the beach. The home has a private pool and spa with a balcony off each bedroom. The home sleeps 16 people.

"BBQ Fun for Everyone" package includes a private barbecue for 50 at your place, followed by your own private Karaoke party, donated by Heritage Home Health & Legacy Hospice.

"Sparkle" features a pair of Jude Frances Diamond and Pink Tourmaline earrings, dazzling with 18K white gold diamond hoops and diamond and pink tourmaline charms. Package is donated by Susan Robinson.

"Wine & Dine" is a cocktail party for 20 couples at The Stretford. Cindi Featherston-Shields and Rob Shields will host a catered cocktail party with wine and valet parking at their home.

"Something Old, Something New" includes an original Batik painting and an 1890 Imari plate and an antique copper wine cooler. Display them on a new piece of furniture from Grey's Home Furnishings with a $500 gift certificate. Donated by Border Market Antiques, Grey's Home Furnishings, Castle Gate Antiques and Dana & Glenn Woodard.
