Three Take Top Spots At College Integration Bee
TYLER - Three University of Texas at Tyler students received cash prizes at the 2008 Integration Bee.

Freshman Lee Trammell, of Tyler, won the first-place $75 cash prize. Sophomore Justin Schminkey, of Tyler, placed second and won $50. Jiro Furukawa, of Tyler, placed third for a $30 prize.

The integration bee is similar to a spelling bee, but competitors work math integration problems. Approximately 70 students competed in the event sponsored by the UT Tyler Math Club.
