Vierkant Wins Colonial History Essay Contest
The Richard Borden Chapter Colonial Dames XVII Century announced Caleb Vierkant winner of the Colonial History Essay Contest. Caleb is a sixth-grader and son of Tammy and Matthew Vierkant of Tyler. He was awarded a cash prize, a certificate and an American flag for his essay on “Jamestown” during a recent awards ceremony. All essays were judged by professionals outside of the Colonial Dames Society. Making the presentation to Caleb are chapter president Anna Lee (left) and vice president, Madeline Alworth.
