East Texans Complete Basic Military Training

COSTNER
Navy Seaman Recruits Johnathan B. Gale and Seth A. Horton completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
During the eight-week program, they completed standard training in items such as naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.
Gale, son of Kimberly D. and Brian K. Gale, Lindale, is a 2007 graduate of Lindale High School of Lindale.
Horton, a graduate of Lindale High School, is the son of Melody A. Parker and Jeff L. Horton, both of Lindale.
AIR FORCE
Air Force Airman Jay S. Costner and 1st Class Danielle C. Ellis have graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.
During the six weeks of training, the airmen studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.
Costner, a graduate of Van High School, is the son of Kevin Costner of Van.

ELLIS
Ellis, daughter of Richard Ellis and Michelle Ellis, both of Tyler, is a graduate of Winona High School.
ARMY RESERVE
Army Reserve Pvt. Rickey K. Dodson, Army National Guard Pfc. Lisa F. Reamer and Army Pvt. Jacobie K. Brydson, graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
Dodson is the son of Lisa Dodson, Tyler, and grandson of Linda Armour, Alba.
Reamer, daughter of Deborah Reamer of Tyler, is a graduate of Cooper High School, Abilene.
Brydson is the son of Debbie Brydson, San Augustine, and brother of Kyles Lakia of Nacogdoches.
Brydson is a 2004 graduate of San Augustine High School.
ARMY NATIONAL GUARD
Army National Guard Pvt. Johnathan D. Farmer and Army National Guard Pvt. Michael J. Frederick II have graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.
Farmer is the son of Linda March-Farmer, and grandson of Joe and Jackie March, all of Wills Point. He is a graduate of Quinlan High School.
He is the son of Mike and Dianne Frederick. He is a 2004 home school program graduate.
