League To Spotlight Leatherwood
The Palette of Roses Art League will feature Merri Leatherwood as its guest demonstrator at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Assisted Living Lecture room at Atria Willow Park, 3500 S. Vine Ave., Tyler, League spokesperson Robin Enneking said.
The free public demonstration of watercolor/watercolor pencil portraiture is open to the public.
In 1989, Mrs. Leatherwood started working in arts and crafts as a hobby; this led her to an interest in attending Tyler Junior College as a graphic arts major.

While attending TJC, she started studying fine arts as her minor concentration for her degree. She graduated as a member of the International Honor Society (Phi Theta Kappa) in 2000.
Now, Mrs. Leatherwood works in several mediums, including watercolor, acrylic, oil, charcoal, and, most recently, China painting.
She lives in Tyler with her husband, Jack, and daughter Britnee, Ms. Enneking said.
