Holt House is scheduled to present its annual "Spring Forward" Fashion Show and Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holt House, 709 S. Bois d'Arc, Tyler.

"This activity is one of many that serves our members and guests. It provides the opportunity to shop at the House. It's an easy, uncomplicated way to buy new clothes and accessories," said Billie Moore, board member and program narrator.

Spring and Easter attire will be featured.

Models will be Holt House members Alyne Landsen, Elaine Fisk, Marjorie Lotz, Jean Mueller, Peaches Owen, Dell Pettigrew, Jean Hartin, Debra Johnson, Cheryl Shirey, Phyllis Stamps, Ginger Knauss, Juanita Wardlaw, Lynda Fowler and Karen Thornton.

Peggy Wilson will provide accompanying music on the piano.

Guests who join the Holt House on that day will be given a Mili blouse of their choice. The blouses are donated by Heavenly Boutique, Hideaway.

Program Chairman Nell Murdaugh said this is a "fun" fundraiser, and the public is invited. The show lunch is $8. Participants are requested to call 903-592-5553 and say they plan to attend.

There is limited seating.

Many accessories will be won through chance drawings, Ms. Murdaugh said.

The twice-annual fashion show provides a "no hassle" fun shopping opportunity, "and we are pleased to present a show in the spring and fall each year," she said.

Holt House Inc. is a private, nonprofit organization founded in 1986 for the purpose of offering a gathering place in a homelike setting for '"growing older, better."

Mrs. Murdaugh said the House is open daily for fellowship, lunch, games of choice and lessons for members.

Twice-monthly programs are presented for promotion of health and wellness, education, social interaction and fun. Monthly birthday parties are held with complimentary lunch for those celebrating that month.

The House is open for games, gatherings and meals on all holidays. Membership is $40 annually.

Membership is not required for attending programs or just coming by for lunch, Mrs. Murdaugh said.

Mrs. Moore will be assisted by Eleanor Curtis and Barbara Dean.

OTHER EVENTS

Other activities coming up in March include the celebration of March birthdays on March 16.

"Easter is one of several holidays that find members gathered for meal, fellowship and games. As always, there will be an Easter Bonnet parade and prizes," Mrs. Murdaugh said.

Holt House rounds out its beginning of spring celebration with a luncheon program, presented by Karen Thornton, a fabric artist, at 11:30 a.m. March 26 at the house, 709 S. Bois d'Arc, Tyler.

Mrs. Thornton won Blue Ribbon and Best of Show awards at last year's Azalea Quilt Show, Mrs. Murdaugh said.

Debbie Johnson and Brenda Henderson will hostess this occasion, which features the "Scripture Quilt."

All programs require reservations, which may be made by calling 903-592-5553.
