Gregg County Sees Flurry Of Developmental Activity

DEVELOPMENTAL
Gregg County

  • The Griffin Ranch G.U. 2 Well No. 15 will be drilled by Geo-Vest of Texas, Inc. This well is 4.2 miles northeast from Kilgore in the Danville, East (Cotton Valley) Field. The well will hit 11,000 feet in the Edwards, H Survey, A-64 and may also be drilled in the Danville (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field or a wildcat field.

  • Geo-Vest of Texas Inc. will drill four wells in the Edwards, H Survey, A-64. The Griffin Ranch G.U. 2 Well No. 17 will be drilled 4.6 miles northeast of Kilgore in the Danville, East (Cotton Valley) Field. It will hit 11,000 feet and may also be drilled in the Danville (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field or a wildcat field. The Griffin Ranch G.U. 2 Well No. 18 will be drilled 4.6 miles northeast of Kilgore in the Danville (Pettit -A- Oil) Field. This well is 8,000 feet and may also be drilled in the Danville (Gloyd) Field, a wildcat field or the Danville (Young) Field. The Griffin Ranch G.U. 2 Well No. 19 will be drilled 4.8 miles northeast of Kilgore in the Danville, East (Cotton Valley) Field. This well will hit 11,000 feet and may also be drilled in the Danville (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field or a wildcat field. The Griffin Ranch G.U. 2 Well No. 20 will be drilled 4.8 miles northeast of Kilgore in the Danville (Pettit -A- Oil) Field. This well will hit 8,000 feet and may also be drilled in the Danville (Gloyd) Field, the Danville (Young) Field or a wildcat field.

  • In a lease 4.2 miles northeast of Kilgore, in the Danville (Pettit-A- Oil) Field, the Griffin Ranch G.U. 2 Well No. 16 will be drilled by Geo-Vest of Texas Inc. The well will hit 8,000 feet in the Edwards, H Survey, A-64 and may also be drilled in the Danville (Gloyd) Field, a wildcat field or the Danville (Young) Field.

  • The Judge Daniels Gas Unit 1 Well No. 10 is 2.5 miles east of Kilgore in the Danville (Travis Peak-Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field. Samson Lone Star will drill the well to 13,000 feet in the Walker, P Survey, A-210. This well may also be drilled in a wildcat field.

  • Anderson County

    The Nelms Well No. 1 will be drilled by XTO Energy in the Tennessee Colony, Northeast (Travis Peak) Field. This well is 0.7 miles northeast of Tennessee Colony in the Manuel Rionda Survey, A-58 and will hit 11,000 feet. The well may also be drilled in the Tennessee Colony (Pettit) Field, the Tennessee Colony (Rodessa, Lower) Field or the Tennessee Colony (Rodessa, Upper) Field.

    Cherokee County

    Cordillera Texas will drill the Southern Pine GU No. 1 Well No. 5 and the Southern Pine GU No. 3 Well No. 2. The No. 5 is 13.4 miles west of Rusk in the Southern Pine (Travis Peak) Field. The well is in the Fontain, JH Survey, A-287 and will hit 12,000 feet. The No. 2 is 15.6 miles west from Rusk in a wildcat field. The well is in the Thompson, M/Stevenson, JE Survey, A-1065 to 11,500-feet. This well may also be drilled in the Southern Pine (Travis Peak) Field.

    Henderson County

    The Smith Well No. 1 will be drilled 2.9 miles southeast of Malakoff in the Malakoff, South (Travis Peak) Field by Rising Star Petroleum. The well will hit 10,000 feet in the Albright, J Survey, A-16 and may also be drilled in the Loudy (Pettit) Field.

    Freestone County

    The C.C. Thompson Gas Unit Well No. 25 will be drilled to 13,600 feet in the Freestone (Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated) Field. The well will be located 3.6 miles northwest of Donie in the Chavert, JL drilled by XTO Energy.

    Harrison County

  • Enervest Operating will prepare to drill the Jones Gas Unit Well No. 13 and the Jennifer Stewart Gas Unit Well No. 17 in a wildcat field. The No. 13 well will bottom at 11,500 feet five miles southwest of Hallsville in the Berry, M Survey, A-75. The No. 17 well will hit 11,500 feet five miles southwest of Hallsville in the Blair, Hrs. J. Survey, A-74. These wells may also be drilled in the Oak Hill (Cotton Valley) Field.

  • The Holloway Gas Unit Well No. 6 will be drilled 2.72 miles southeast of Hallsville in a wildcat field by NEG Operating. The well will hit 12,000 feet in the Little, W Survey, A-397. This well may also be in the Oak Hill (Cotton Valley) Field.

  • In a lease 0.6 miles east from Crossroads in a wildcat field, the Grimsinger Well No. 2 will be drilled by NEG Operating. This well will hit 12,000 feet in the Wallace, L Survey, A-744. This well may also be drilled in the Carthage, North (Cotton Valley) Field, the Elysian, North (Cotton Valley) Field or the Bethany (Travis Peak 6300) Field.

  • Forest Oil Corp. will drill the Gracie Bell CV Gas Unit Well No. 2H in the Hardwood (Cotton Valley) Field and the Beatrice Key Gas Unit Well No. 8H in the Carthage, North (Cotton Valley) Field. The No. 2H well will be located 9.5 miles southeast of Marshall in the Earle, D Survey, A-235 and will hit 11,500 feet. This well may also be drilled in a wildcat field. The No. 8H well will be located four miles northwest of Karnack in the Watkins, RO Survey, A-752 and will hit at 11,500-feet.

  • The Sangster Gas Unit Well No. 2 will be drilled 3.2 miles northwest of Crossroads in the Carthage, North (Cotton Valley) Field. Penn Virginia Oil & Gas, to 13,000 feet in the Ussury, MS Survey, A-722 and may also be drilled in a wildcat field.

  • A wildcat field will see the Swift Well No. 13H drilled by Comstock Oil & Gas. The well will hit 9,520 feet in the Ferguson, R Survey, A-254 3.3 miles east from Crossroads.

  • Penn Virginia Oil & Gas will prepare of drill the Spencer Gas Unit Well No. 7 and No. 8 in the Carthage, North (Cotton Valley) Field. The wells will hit 13,000 feet in the Cellum, J Survey, A-145. Location will be 3.6 miles northeast of Crossroads.

  • There will be two additional wells drilled in a wildcat field of a depth of 11,500 feet by Enervest Operating. The Jennifer Stewart Gas Unit Well No. 9 is 4.2 miles southwest of Hallsville in the Blair, J Survey, A-74. The Jennifer Stewart Gas Unit Well No. 13 will be located four miles southwest of Hallsville in the Curbell, J Survey, A-138. Both wells may also be drilled in the Oak Hill (Cotton Valley) Field.

  • XTO Energy Inc. will drill the United Resources Gas Unit Well No. 1 in the Lansing, North (Cotton Valley, Lower) Field. The well will be located 5.5 miles southwest of Harleton in the Richardson, T J Survey, A-603. This well will bottom at 11,500 feet and may also be drilled in the Lansing, North (Travis Peak) Field.

  • Leon County

  • A wildcat field will see the Chaney, J. Unit Well No. 1 and the Carr, A. D. "A" Unit Well No. 1 drilled by EnCana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc. The Chaney, J. Unit Well No. 1 is 5.4 miles southeast from Marquez in the Pereira, P/Grande, J & M Survey, A-17. The Carr, A. D. "A" Unit Well No. 1 is 3.3 miles northwest from Wealty in the Viesca, J M Survey, A-30. Total depth is 19,500 feet and they may also be drilled in the Bald Prairie (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field or the Hilltop Resort (Bossier) Field.

  • In a lease 3.4 miles southeast from Ridge in a wildcat field, the Gastar-Lone Oak Ranch Well No. 6 will be drilled by Gastar Exploration Texas, LP. The well will be drilled to 20,000 feet in the Pereira, P/Grande, J&M Survey, A-17 and may also be drilled in the Hill of Resort (Bossier) Field.

  • Limestone County

    O'Benco Inc. will drill the Bobby Reed Gas Unit Well No. 23 in the Freestone (Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated) Field. The well will be drilled of a depth of 13,700 feet in the Chavert, JL Survey, A-4. This well is 13.4 miles northwest of Jewett and may also be drilled in the Navasota (Pettit) Field, a wildcat field or the Freestone (Travis Peak) Field.

    Nacogdoches County

  • The Carlos Dews Gas Unit Well No. 8 will be drilled by Chesapeake Operating Inc. in the Naconiche Creek (Rodessa-Travis Peak Consolidated) Field. The well will hit 14,000 feet in the Yancy, A Survey, A-625 and will be located 7.1 miles southwest of Garrison. This well may also be drilled in the Naconiche Creek (Cotton Valley) Field or a wildcat field.

  • In a lease 3.3 miles east of Cushing in the Trawick (Travis Peak) Field, the Trawick Gas Unit 17 Well No. 11 will be drilled by Exxon Mobil. This well will hit 9,800 feet in the Weekes, J Survey, A-58. This well may also be drilled in a wildcat field, the Trawick (James) Field, the Trawick (Rodessa) Field or the Trawick (Pettit) Field.

  • Samson Lone Star, LLC will drill the Tip of Gas Unit 1 Well No. 1 in the Red Land, North (Travis Peak) Field and the Desha GU 1 Well No. 3 in the Douglass, West (Travis Peak) Field. The No. 1 well will be located nine miles southwest of Nacogdoches with a depth of 12,500 feet. This well is in the Kirby, J Survey, A-326 and may also be drilled in the Black Bayou (Travis Peak) Field, the Shawnee Spring (Travis Peak) Field, a wildcat field or the Red Land, Northeast (Pettit) Field. The No. 3 well will be located 11 miles northwest of Nacogdoches with a depth of 12,000 feet. This well will lie in the Sacco, M Survey, A-49 and may also be drilled in the Nacogdoches, East (James Lime) Field, a wildcat field, the Little Ears (Pettit Lime) Field or the Miyagi (Pettit) Field.

  • Navarro County

    O'Ryan Oil and Gas will drill the Carter Well No. 29 in the Corsicana (Naconiche) Field to a depth of 2,000 feet. The well will be located 0.7 miles north of Powell in the Van Horn, ER Survey, A-815. This well may also be drilled in the Corsicana (Shallow) Field.

    Panola County

  • The Hancock Unit Well No. 16, the Southland Paper Co. Well No. 21 and the Metcalf Gas Unit Well No. 2 will be drilled by Devon Energy Production Co. in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field. The No. 16 is 8.6 miles southwest of Carthage with a depth of 11,000 feet in the Kelly, T Survey, A-372. The No. 21 is 5.7 miles southwest of Carthage with a depth of 12,000 feet in the Hanks, I Survey, A-271. The No. 2 well will be located 3.9 miles northeast of Carthage in the Morris, D Survey, A-463 and will hit 14,000 feet.

  • Enduring Resources will drill the West Phillips Gas Unit Well No. 1 in the Brachfield, Southeast (Cotton Valley) Field. This well is be located 0.8 miles southwest of Long Branch in the Mc Adams, J Survey, A-422 and it may also be drilled in the Minden (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field or a wildcat field.

  • Chesapeake Operating will drill the Donald, F.H. Well No. 12, the Fred Kyle Unit Well No. 14 and the A.L. Davis Gas Unit Well No. 16 in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field. The No. 12 is 3.6 miles southeast of Carthage in the Payne, M Survey, A-526. The No. 14 is 4.6 miles southeast of Carthage in the Ashton, M Survey, A-8. The No. 16 is 3.3 miles south from Carthage in the Shields, L Survey, A-605. These wells will hit 12,000 feet. The No. 14 may also be drilled in a wildcat field.

  • The CGU 5 Well No. 15 and the CGU 8 Well No. 19H will be drilled in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field by Anadarko E&P. The wells will hit 12,000 feet. The No. 15 is 3.5 miles southwest of Carthage in the Smith, M Survey, A-607. The No. 19H is 3.8 miles southwest of Carthage in the Witherspoon, AM Survey, A-732.

  • In a lease 9.3 miles southeast of Carthage in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field, the Pitts A Unit Well No. 12 will be drilled by Conoco Phillips. This well will hit 10,100 feet in the Tippett, J Survey, A-666.

  • XTO Energy will drill the Roquemore Gas Unit "D" Well No. 25 in the Bethany (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field of a depth of 12,000 feet. This well is 3.3 miles northeast of De Berry in the Jordan, BC Survey, A-348. It may also be drilled in the Bethany, East (Cotton Valley) Field.

  • Chesapeake Operating is preparing to drill the J.C. Brown Gas Unit Well No. 17 and the Thomas & Wood Well No. 15 in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field. The No. 17 well will be located 4.3 miles southeast of Carthage in the Neely, WA Survey, A-514. The No. 15 well will be located 2.6 miles southeast of Carthage in the Goodwin, G Survey, A-224. These wells will hit 14,000 feet and may also be drilled in a wildcat field.

  • In a lease 1.25 miles north of Joaquin in the Joaquin (Wiener) Field, the Preston Hart Unit Well No. 2 will be drilled by Classic Operating. The well will hit 10,000 feet in the Smith, M Survey A-592. This well may also be drilled in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field or a wildcat field.

  • Robertson County

  • The John Blair Well No. 11 is 11.5 miles northeast of Franklin in a wildcat field. The well will hit 13,500 feet in the Jones, W Survey, A-200. This well may also be drilled in the Bald Prairie (Pettit) Field, the Bald Prairie (Travis Peak) Field or the Bald Prairie (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field.

  • EnCana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc. will drill the Meadors Unit Well No. 5 in the John Amoruso (Bossier) Field. The well is 7.2 miles east of Franklin in the Pereira, P/Grande, J&M Survey, A-32 and will hit 16,680 feet.

  • In a lease 5.55 miles southwest of Hearne in the Giddings (Austin Chalk-3) Field, the Cotropia-McCrady Unit Well No. 1 will be drilled by Williams, Clayton Energy. The well will hit 16,700 feet in the Nixon, GA Survey, A-31.

  • Rusk County

  • GMT Exploration Company Texas will drill the Schwartz Well No. 1 in the Naconiche Creek (Rodessa-Travis Peak Consolidated) Field. This well will be located 5.8 miles southeast of Garrison in the Kelley, R Survey, A-469 and will hit 11,000 feet.

  • The Morgan Estate Gas Unit Well No. 3 is being prepared for drilling in the Oak Hill (Cotton Valley) Field. NFR Energy will drill the well to 11,500 feet in the Watkins, J Survey, A-807 2.16 miles south from New Hope.

  • In a lease 5.9 miles southwest of Tatum, in a wildcat field, the CE Williamson Heirs Gas Unit Well No. 11 will be drilled by Verado Energy. The well will bottom at 12,000 feet in the Watson, D Survey, A-863. This well may also be drilled in the Oak Hill (Cotton Valley) Field.

  • The Oak Hill (Cotton Valley) Field will see the Oak Hill G.U. 1 Well No. 1 drilled by Chinn Exploration. This well will hit 11,250 feet in the Thomas O'Bar Survey, A-26. Location will be 20.9 miles east of Henderson.

  • National Onshore will drill the David Brown Gas Unit 1 Well No. 10 in the Minden (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field. This well will be located 6.2 miles southeast of Henderson in the Doubt, D Survey, A-234 with a depth of 12,000 feet. This well may also be drilled in the Minden (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field, the Miden (Cotton Valley Lime) Field or a wildcat field.

  • The Williamson Unit Well No. 9 will be located 2.7 miles northwest of Tatum in the Oak Hill (Cotton Valley) Field. The well will be drilled by Energen Resources Corp. of a depth of 11,000 feet in the O'Bar, T Survey A-26.

  • Shelby County

    Cabot Oil & Gas Corp. will drill the Timberstar-Rusk B593 Well No. 1 in a wildcat field. The well is 2.9 miles southeast of Aiken in the Rusk CSL Survey, A-593. This well will hit 9,000 feet and may also be drilled in the Angie (James Lime) Field.


    COMPLETIONS
    Freestone County

  • The Neal, CE GU B-1 Well No. 12-H has been completed by Devon Energy in the Nan-Su-Gail Field. This well is 5.1 miles northeast of Fairfield and bottoms at 15,790 feet. When gauged on a 61/64-inch choke, the well potentialed 24.962 million cubic feet of gas per day. Production is in the Cotton Valley Consolidated formation.

  • When gauged on a one-inch choke, the Metzgar Well No. 4 potentialed 1.751 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. The well is located 4.4 miles northeast of Fairfield in the Nan-Su-Gail Field. This well was drilled to 12,635 feet by Valence Operating. Production is in the Cotton Valley Consolidated formation.

  • Harrison County

    When gauged on a 20/64-inch choke, the Slone Well No. 1 potentialed 792,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day. This well is located 10.3 miles south of Marshall in the Darco, Southeast Field. Comstock Oil & Gas, completed the well of a depth of 10,367 feet.

    Limestone County

    The Freestone Field has seen the Mildred Thompson Well No. 12-H completed to 15,000 feet by Devon Energy. This well potentialed 10.176 million cubic feet of gas per day when gauged on a 68/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated formation.

    Nacogdoches County

  • The Jack Lucas Gas Unit Well No. 6 is located 11.1 miles northwest of Nacogdoches in the Douglass, West Field. Fair Oil Ltd drilled the well to 10,625 feet. This well potentialed 1.742 million cubic feet of gas per day when gauged on a 13/64-inch choke. Production is in the Travis Peak formation.

  • In a lease two miles northwest of Nacogdoches in the Little Ears Field, the Stewart-Tischhauser Well No. 1 has been completed by Pinnacle Operating. The well bottoms at 10,405 feet and potentialed 2.027 million cubic feet of gas per day when gauged on an 11/64-inch choke. Production is in the Pettit Lime formation.

  • Kraker & Martin Energy has completed the George Cason Well No. 1 in the Black Bayou Field. This well hit 11,147 feet six miles southeast of Nacogdoches. When gauged on a 20/64-inch choke, the well potentialed 433,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day.

  • Panola County

  • When gauged on an adjustable choke, the Beckworth Unit Well No. 17 potentialed 404,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day. This well is 8.8 miles northeast of Carthage. Devon Energy completed the well of a depth of 9,895 feet in the Carthage Field. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.

  • Sendero Energy has completed the Werner-Matthews Well No. 5 in the East Centennial Field of a depth of 9,775 feet. This well is located 5.5 miles southeast of DeBerry. When gauged on a 24/64-inch choke, the well potentialed 344,000 cubic feet of gas per day. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.

  • Rusk County

    The Harrell Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 10 has been completed 2.24 miles northeast of Minden in the Brachfield, Southeast Field. EnerVest has completed the well of a depth of 10,796 feet. This well was gauged on a 48/64-inch choke and potentialed 1.979 million cubic feet of gas per day. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.

    Smith County

    The Overton Field has seen the Milton Anderson Gas Unit 1 Well No. 17 completed by Southwestern Energy to a depth of 11,810 feet. Location is 3.5 miles southwest of Arp. When gauged on a 24/64-inch choke, the well potentialed 1.979 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. Production is in the Cotton Valley Sand formation.

    Upshur County

    Southwestern Energy has completed the South Well No. 1 in a wildcat field. Location is 13.6 miles northwest of Gilmer to 11,900 feet. No test data recorded.
