Drillers File For Six Rusk Wells

DEVELOPMENTAL
Rusk County

  • Cabot Oil & Gas will drill the East Minden Saltwater Disposal Well No. 1 in the Minden (Rodessa) Field. The well will lie in the Vansickle, BA Survey, A-798 and is 5.7 miles northeast of Minden. Depth will be 5,000 feet.

  • In a lease 3.8 miles northeast of Minden, in a wildcat field, the Poovey Gas Unit Well No. 2 will be drilled by Enervest Operating. The well will hit 12,000 feet in the William Montgomery Survey, A-559. This well may also be drilled in the Minden (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field, Minden (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field, or the Brachfield, Southeast (Cotton Valley) Field.

  • The Black Stone Minerals Company GU Well No. 4 will be drilled 3.3 miles northeast of Minden in a wildcat field. The well will be drilled by Enervest Operating. The well will lie in the James M. Daniels Survey, A-247.

  • In a lease 6.2 miles east of Henderson, in the Henderson, East (Cotton Valley) Field, the Ras Redwine Well No. 2 will be drilled by Chinn Exploration. The well will hit 12,250 feet in the John Piburn Survey, A-28.

  • Buffco Production will drill the Case Well No. 1 3.2 miles southeast of Minden, in the Minden (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field. The well will hit 11,000 feet in the McGuire, GW Survey, A-542.

  • The Minden (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field will see the Nana Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 5 drilled by National Onshore. The well is 5.3 miles southeast of Henderson in the White, JM Survey, A-813. The well will hit 12,000 feet and may also be drilled in the Minden (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field.

  • Anderson County

  • JLA Resources will drill the Temple Inland Well No. 36 and the No. 38 in the Anwac (900 Wilcox) Field. The wells will hit 2,000 feet in the Erwin, R Survey, A-263 and are four miles northeast of Elkhart. Both wells may also be drilled in the Anwac (1300 Wilcox) Field, Anwac (1400 Wilcox) Field.

  • The Chalcedony Gas Unit Well No. 1 will be drilled 3.6 miles southwest of Tennessee Colony in the Prairie Lake (Rodessa) Field. The well will be drilled by LLog Exploration Texas in the Riondo, M Survey, A-58 to 9,329 feet.

  • Cherokee County

    Cordillera Texas will drill the Temple-Eastex G.U. No. 3, 14.8 miles west of Rusk, in a wildcat field. The well will lie in the Fulgham, GTW Survey, A-1040 and will hit 11,200 feet.

    Freestone County

  • In a lease 0.9 miles southwest of Fairfield, in the Teague (Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated) Field, the L.V. Jones Gas Unit 1 Well No. 3 will be drilled by XTO Energy. The well will hit 13,000 feet in the Reed, IH Survey, A-23.

  • XTO Energy will drill the L.V. Jones Gas Unit 1 Well No. 6 in the Teague (Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated) Field. The well will lie in the Reed, IH Survey, A-23 and is 0.6 miles west of Fairfield. Depth will be 13,100 feet.

  • Gregg County

  • J-W Operating will drill the Williams Well No. 3 3.4 miles northeast of Longview, in the Willow Springs (Cotton Valley) Field. The well will hit 15,000 feet in the Hill, D Survey, A-93.

  • Geo-Vest of Texas will drill the Griffin Ranch G.U. 1 Well No. 10 and the G.U. 8 Well No. 4 in the Danville, East (Cotton Valley) Field. The No. 10 well is 5.1 miles northeast of Kilgore in the Bradley, E Survey, A-17 to 12,000 feet. The No. 4 well is 3.9 miles northeast of Kilgore in the Edwards, H Survey, A-64 to 13,000 feet. Both wells may also be drilled in the Danville (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field, or in a wildcat field.

  • Harrison County

  • The H.H. Gill Well No. 3 will be drilled 9.6 miles southeast of Marshall in the Carthage, North (Cotton Valley) Field. The well will be drilled by GMX Resources in the Williams, W Survey, A-757 to 11,800 feet. This well may also be drilled in the Bethany (Pettit 6170) Field, a wildcat field, or the Bethany (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field.

  • In a lease 4.6 miles southeast of Hallsville, in a wildcat field, the Faron Cain Gas Unit Well No. 12 will be drilled by NEG Operating. The well will hit 10,700 feet in the Pinson, JD Survey, A-544 and may also be drilled in the Oak Hill (Cotton Valley) Field, or the Tatum, North (Cotton Valley) Field.

  • GMX Resources will drill the Cadehead Well No. 12 in the Carthage, North (Cotton Valley) Field to 11,800 feet. The well will lie in the Hall, F Survey, A-311 and is 10 miles southeast of Marshall. This well may also be drilled in the Bethany (Pettit 6170) Field, Bethany (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field, or in a wildcat field.

  • Penn Virginia Oil & Gas will drill the Lawless Rhoades Well No. 12 and the No. 13 in a wildcat field. The wells will hit 13,000 feet in the Thorp, J Survey, A-701. The No. 12 well is 4.4 miles southwest of Elysian Fields and the No. 13 well is 4.1 miles southwest of Elysian Fields.

  • In a lease nine miles southeast of Marshall, in the Carthage, North (Cotton Valley) Field, the Jo Ann Scott Well No. 3 will be drilled by GMX Resources. The well will hit 11,800 feet in the Williams, WM Survey, A-757. The well may also be drilled in the Bethany (Pettit 6170) Field, Bethany (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field, or in a wildcat field.

  • Limestone County

  • O'Benco will drill the Alton Sims Well No. 17 and the No. 18. The No. 17 well will hit 13,700 feet in the Freestone (Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated) Field, and is 13.7 miles northwest of Jewett in the Chavert, JL Survey, A-4. The No. 18 well will hit 9,000 feet in the Freestone (Travis Peak) Field and is 13.6 miles northwest of Jewett in the Chavert, L Survey, A-4. Both wells may also be drilled in the Navasota (Pettit) Field, a wildcat field, or the No. 17 may be drilled in the Freestone (Travis Peak) Field.

  • In a lease 13.4 miles southeast of Groesbeck, in the Freestone (Cotton Valley- Bossier Consolidated) Field, the Heaton No. 1 Gas Unit Well No. 25 will be drilled by XTO Energy. The well will hit 13,300 feet in the Chavert, JL Survey, A-4.

  • Marion County

  • In a lease three miles north of Jefferson, in the Rodessa (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field, the Childress Well No. 2 will be drilled by Pegasi Operating to 10,300 feet in the Reuben Bennington Survey, A-24. This well may also be drilled in the Rodessa (Travis Peak) Field, or the Rodessa (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field.

  • Pegasi Operating will drill the Huntington Well No. 4 three miles north of Jefferson, in the Rodessa (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field. The well will lie in the Duvalt, A Survey, A-115 and will hit 10,300 feet. This well may also be drilled in the Rodessa (Travis Peak) Field, or the Rodessa (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field.

  • Nacogdoches County

  • In a lease three miles northeast of Melrose, in a wildcat field, the Dodgers Gas Unit Well No. 2H will be drilled by Fossil Resources. The well will hit 8,500 feet in the Flores, Hrs V Survey, A-30 and may also be drilled in the Martinsville, Southeast (James) Field.

  • Indigo Minerals will drill the Watkins Unit Well No. 1 to 11,000 feet in a wildcat field. The well will lie in the Durst, J Survey, A-26 and is 14 miles northwest of Nacogdoches. This well may also be drilled in the Douglass, West (Pettit Middle) Field, Douglass, West (Travis Peak) Field.

  • The Black Stone Well No. 6 will be drilled nine miles northwest of Nacogdoches in the De Los Santos Coy, M & Bros Survey, A-21. The well will hit 12,000 feet in the Douglass, West (Travis Peak) Field. This well may also be drilled in a wildcat field, the Little Ears (Pettit Lime) Field, or the Miyagi (Pettit) Field.

  • In a lease six miles northwest of Mayo, in the Naconiche Creek (Rodessa-Travis Peak Consolidated) Field, the Watt Gas Unit Well No. 5 will be drilled by Chesapeake Operating. The well will hit 12,000 feet in the Daniel Seelbach Survey, A-531. This well may also be drilled in the Naconiche Creek (Cotton Valley) Field, or in a wildcat field.

  • Robertson County

    In a lease 9.6 miles northeast of Franklin, in a wildcat field, the Charlene Well No. 4 will be drilled by Chesapeake Operating to 18,000 feet in the Viesca, JM Survey, A-46. The well may also be drilled in the Hilltop Resort (Austin Chalk) Field, Kurten (Buda) Field, or the Kurten (Austin Chalk) Field.

    Shelby County

    In a lease 9.8 miles southeast of Center, in the Huxley (6100) Field, the Borders, Ronnie Well No. 1H will be drilled by Hunt Petroleum to 7,200 feet in the Rusk CSL Survey, A-591.

    Wood County

    Ridge Petroleum will drill the Dee-Lee Well No. 1 nine miles south of Pine Mills in a wildcat field. The well will hit 9,130 feet in the Walker, T Survey, A-605.


    COMPLETIONS
    Cherokee County

    Goodrich Petroleum has completed the Rube Sessions Well No. 3 to 12,233 feet 1.1 mile northeast of Wells in the Raintree Field. The well potentialed 1.078 million cubic feet of natural gas per day on an adjustable choke. Production is in the Hosston formation.

    Freestone County

  • XTO Energy has completed the Henderson-Lott No. 1 Gas Unit Well No. 12 to 13,015 feet 4.6 miles southwest of Fairfield in the Teague Field. The well potentialed 786,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day on a 48/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated formation.

  • The Dunlap Gas Unit No. 2 Well No. 2 has been completed to 12,832 feet in the Teague Field. The well is 2.4 miles southwest of Fairfield. The well was gauged on a 20/64-inch choke and potentialed 3.993 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. Production is in the Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated formation.

  • Harrison County

  • Penn Virginia Oil & Gas has completed four wells in the Carthage, North Field. The wells are the Furrh 3 Well No. 16, Penny Jones Well No. 3, Furrh GU 3 Well No. 12, and the TJT Well No. 7. The No. 16 well is 6.1 southwest of Elysian Fields. The No. 3 is 8.4 miles southeast of Marshall. The No. 12 is 6.8 miles southwest of Elysian Fields, and the No. 7 is 11.7 miles northeast of Marshall. When gauged on a 22/64-inch choke the No. 16 potentialed 1.965 million cubic feet of natural gas per day with a depth of 10,230 feet. When gauged on a 24/64-inch choke the No. 3 potentialed 715,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day with a depth of 10,318 feet. When gauged on a 16/64-inch choke the No. 12 potentialed 1.085 million cubic feet of natural gas per day with a depth of 10,220 feet. When gauged on a 22/64-inch choke the No. 7 potentialed 718,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day with a depth of 10,184 feet. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.

  • In a lease 2.7 miles southeast of Marshall, in the Hardwood Field, Smith Resources has filed first production papers for the Kirkpatrick Well No. 1. This well potentialed 932,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day on a 28/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.

  • Henderson County

    In a lease 5.8 miles southwest of Athens, in the Tri-Cities Field, XTO Energy has filed first production papers for the Hinton Gas Unit Well No. 7. This well hit 11,642 feet and potentialed 2.439 million cubic feet of natural gas per day on an 8/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.

    Nacogdoches County

    In a lease 9.9 miles of Nacogdoches, in the Shawnee Spring Field, Southwestern Energy Production has filed first production papers for the Griffith Heirs Gas Unit 3 Well No. 2. This well hit 12,200 feet and potentialed 2.907 million cubic feet of natural gas per day on a 30/64-inch choke. Production is in the Travis Peak formation.

    Rusk County

  • The Kennedy Gas Unit (formerly Woods No. 2) Well No. 5 has been completed to 11,538 feet in the Brachfield, Southeast Field by Cabot Oil & Gas 3.3 miles southwest of Long Branch. The well was gauged on a 36/64-inch choke and potentialed 551,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.

  • National Onshore has filed the first production papers on the Brown Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 9. This well is 6.4 miles southeast of Henderson in the Minden Field. The well hit 10,850 feet and potentialed 1.181 million cubic feet of natural gas per day on a 48/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley Consolidated formation.
