Panola Activity Continues

DEVELOPMENTAL
Panola County

  • In a lease 1.7 miles northwest of Fair Play, in the Beckville (Cotton Valley) Field, the R.M. Shaw GU Well No. 2 will be drilled by Goodrich Petroleum. The well will hit 11,000 feet in the Johnson, FW Survey, A-351 and may also be drilled in the Beckville (Travis Peak) Field.

  • Lacy Operations will drill the Turner Unit 1 Well No. 12 in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field 5.4 miles northeast of Beckville. The well will hit 10,000 feet in the Duboise, A Sr. Survey, A-159.

  • The Allison Unit Well No. 20 will be drilled 4.6 miles northeast of Carthage, in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field. The well will hit 11,000 feet and will lie in the Lindsey, C Survey, A-393.

  • Devon Energy Production will drill the Chadwick Well No. 26 in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field 3.2 miles northwest of Carthage. The well will lie in the White, S Survey, A-743 and will hit 11,000 feet.

  • In a lease 5.7 miles southeast of Carthage, in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field, the Dunlap Unit Well No. 10 will be drilled by Devon Energy Production. The well will hit 11,000 feet in the Anderson, W Survey, A-4.



    Cherokee County

  • The Sessions, Bob Well No. 5 will be drilled by Goodrich Petroleum in the Raintree (Hosston) Field. The well is two miles northeast of Wells in the Ruddell, A Survey, A-739. The well will hit 13,000 feet and may also be drilled in the Gates (Travis Peak) Field.

  • In a lease 4.9 miles northwest of Forest, in a wildcat field, the Hauserman Well No. 1 will be drilled by Chesapeake Operating. The well will hit 14,000 feet in the Harrell, F Survey, A-392 and may also be drilled in the Decker Switch (Pettit) Field.



    Freestone County

    In a lease 2.3 miles southwest of Fairfield, in the Teague (Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated) Field, the Northern Gas Unit Well No. 14 will be drilled by Hunt Petroleum to 12,600 feet in the Reed, IH Survey, A-23.



    Gregg County

    The Danville, East (Cotton Valley) Field will see the Flanagan Well No. 10 drilled to 13,000 feet by Samson Lone Star. The well is four miles east of Kilgore in the Edwards, H Survey, A-64. This well may also be drilled in the Danville (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field or a wildcat field.



    Harrison County

  • GMX Resources will drill the Baldwin Well No. 8D in the Carthage, North (Cotton Valley) Field. The well is 10.7 miles southeast of Marshall in the Smith, W Survey, A-21. The well will hit 11,800 feet.

  • Samson Lone Star will drill the Dreyfus 2 Well No. 1 five miles south of Karnack in the Waskom (Cotton Valley) Field to 13,000 feet in the Fuller, EM Survey, A-7. This well may also be drilled in a wildcat field.

  • In a lease 1.8 miles northwest of Waskom, in the Waskom (Cotton Valley) Field, the Scott, T.P Well No. 15 will be drilled by Devon Energy Production. The well will hit 11,000 feet in the Dickerson, S Survey, A-222.

  • Forest Oil will drill the Beatrice Key Gas Unit Well No. 6 in the Woodlawn (Cotton Valley) Field to 11,000 feet in the Cobb, WH Survey, A-152. The well is 3.8 miles northwest of Karnack and may also be drilled in the Woodlawn (Travis Peak) Field, Woodlawn (Pettit-Page) Field, or the Woodlawn (Travis Peak-A-) Field.

  • The Smitherman No. 1 Gas Unit Well No. 1 will be drilled 0.5 miles northeast of Longview in a wildcat field. The well will be drilled by Neumin Production in the Hill, D Survey, A-301. This well may also be drilled in the Willow Springs (Cotton Valley) Field, or the Willow Springs, East (Travis Peak) Field.



    Houston County

    The T.I.N. Well No. 4 will be drilled 2.3 miles southeast of Weches in the Decker Switch (Travis Peak) Field by XTO Energy in the Williams, L Survey, A-94 to 13,000 feet.



    Limestone County

    In a lease 5.7 miles northeast of Kosse in the Personville, North (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field, the Scharff Gas Unit Well No. 2 will be drilled by Samson Lone Star. The well will hit 13,000 feet in the Willmoth, L Survey, A-571. This well may also be drilled in a wildcat field.



    Nacogdoches County

  • The Naconiche Creek (Cotton Valley) Field will see the Caro Lumber Well No. 6 drilled by Chesapeake Operating. The well will hit 12,000 feet in the Yancy, A Survey, A-625. This well is 3.9 miles northwest of Mayo and may also be drilled in the Naconiche Creek (Rodessa-Travis Peak Consolidated) Field or a wildcat field.

  • Comstock Oil & Gas will drill the Koonce, Tessie C. Well No. 8 in the Douglass, West (Travis Peak) Field. The well will hit 11,500 feet in the Sacco, M Survey, A-49 and is 0.7 miles northeast of Douglas.

  • The Lee "E-1" Gas Unit Well No. 5 will be drilled 3.3 miles southwest of Garrison in the Appleby, North (Travis Peak) Field. This well will hit 10,200 feet by EOG Resources in the Castro, MD Survey, A-133. This well may also be drilled in the Appleby, North (Pettit) Field.

  • In a lease 17.3 miles northwest of Nacogdoches, in the Douglass, Southwest (Pettit, Upper) Field, the Stinson Gas Unit Well No. 1 will be drilled by Wagner & Brown. The well will hit 12,000 feet in the Durst, J Survey, A-26 and may also be drilled in a wildcat field.



    Rusk County

  • The Oak Hill (Cotton Valley) Field will see the Shelton Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 4 drilled by NEG Operating. The well is 5.7 miles southeast of Tatum in the Lee, I Survey, A-17. The well will hit 14,000 feet.

  • In a lease 21.5 miles northeast of Henderson, in the Oak Hill (Cotton Valley) Field, the Kennedy G.U. 2 Well No. 13 will be drilled by Anadarko E&P. The well will hit 12,000 feet in the Williamson, R Survey, A-46.



    Shelby County

  • The Bedrock Well No. 1H will be drilled 12.5 miles southeast of Shelbyville in the Huxley (Fredericksburg) Field to 4,000 feet in the Smith, A Survey, A-641 by Samson Lone Star.

  • In a lease four miles west of Timpson, in a wildcat field, the Solomon Well No. 1 will be drilled by Atoka Operating to 8,500 feet in the Adams, BF Survey, A-18.

  • The Mouress Unit Well No. 1H will be drilled 0.6 miles northwest of Dreka in the Huxley (6100) Field by Ellora Operating. The well will lie in the Pierpoint, W Survey, A-558 and will hit 7,000 feet.



    Upshur County

    Maximus Operating will drill the Tanner Well No. 1 in a wildcat field. The well will lie in the Donaho, W Survey, A-123 and is 9.1 miles east of Gilmer. Depth will be 12,600 feet. This well may also be drilled in the Cherokee Trace (Jurassic- Harrison) Field, or the Cherokee Trace (Jurassic) Field.


  • COMPLETIONS
    Freestone County

  • In a lease 4.5 miles southeast of Teague, in the Teague Field, XTO Energy has filed first production papers for the Ham Gas Unit Well No. 21. This well hit 12,480 feet and potentialed 2,544 million cubic feet of natural gas per day on a 48/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated formation.

  • When gauged on a 12/64-inch choke the Butler Gas Unit Well No. 5H potentialed 2,417 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. The well was completed by XTO Energy 2.7 miles southeast of Teague in the Teague Field. Production is in the Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated formation.



    Gregg County

  • When gauged on a 20/64-inch choke, the JC Persons GU Well No. 10 potentialed 439,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day. The well was completed within city limits of White Oak in the White Oak Field by TXOK Texas Energy Resources. Depth is 10,763 feet with production in the Cotton Valley Sand formation.

  • In a lease two miles northwest of White Oak, in the Glenwood Field, TXOK Texas Energy Resources has field first production papers for the T.W. Lee Gu Well No. 4. This well hit 10,905 feet and potentialed 487,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day on a 20/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.



    Harrison County

    Penn Virginia Oil & Gas has completed the Abney Well No. 8 to 10,066 feet and the Furrah Gas Unit No. 3 Well No. 15 to 10,250 feet in the Carthage, North Field. The No. 8 is 9.2 miles southeast of Marshall. The No. 15 is 6.2 miles southwest of Elysian Fields. When gauged on a 24/64-inch choke the No. 8 well potentialed 1,065 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. When gauged on a 16/64-inch choke the No. 15 well potentialed 981,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.



    Nacogdoches County

  • The Naconiche Creek Field has seen the BM Land GU Well No. 6 completed by Chesapeake Operating. The well bottoms at 9,220 feet and is 6.5 miles southwest of Garrison. The well potentialed 2.054 million cubic feet of gas per day on an 18/64-inch choke. Production is in the Rodessa-Travis Peak Consolidated formation.

  • In a lease 5.4 miles southeast of Garrison, in the Naconiche Creek Field, Chesapeake Operating has field first production papers on the Williams Gas Unit Well No. 3. This well hit 9,240 feet and potentialed 1.379 million cubic feet of natural gas per day on a 14/64 inch choke. Production is in the Rodessa-Travis Peak Consolidated formation.



    Panola County

  • Petroquest Energy has completed the Werner Pearce Unit Well No. 3 12.4 miles northeast of Carthage in the Carthage Field. The well was completed to 10,189 feet and potentialed 74,570 cubic feet of gas per day on an adjustable choke. Production is in the Pettit, Upper formation.

  • In a lease 10.2 miles west of Carthage, in the Carthage Field, Chinn Exploration has filed first production papers for the Metcalf "H" Well No. 9. This well hit 10,222 feet and potentialed 800,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day on a 12/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.

  • The Floyd Gas Unit Well No. 24 has been completed by XTO Energy in the Bethany, East Field. The well is 4.0 miles east of DeBerry. The well was gauged on a 20/64-inch choke and potentialed 606,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.



    Rusk County

  • The Chevalier Well No. 5 has been completed by Rusk Energy Management in the Cyril, W Field. The well is six miles northwest of Henderson with a depth of 11,141 feet. The well was gauged on a 40/64 inch choke and potentialed 1.400 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.

  • In a lease 3.2 miles southwest of Henderson, in the Minden Field, Rusk Energy Management has filed first production papers for the John Hardy Well No. 7. This well hit 10,960 feet and potentialed 1.900 million cubic feet of natural gas per day on a 28/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.

  • Chinn Exploration has completed the Benton "Z" Well No. 29 to 10,960 feet 3.8 miles west of Henderson in the Minden Field. The well potentialed 956,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day on a 12/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley Consolidated formation.



    Van Zandt County

    The Bill Crim Well No. 9 and the No. 10 have been completed by Omni Oil & Gas in the Van Field two miles north of Van. The No. 9 bottoms at 1,311 feet and flowed with six barrels of crude per day, choke size not recorded. The No. 10 bottoms at 1,343 feet and flowed with seven barrels of crude per day, choke size not recorded. Production is in the Shallow formation.
