XTO To Drill Three In Freestone
DEVELOPMENTAL
Cherokee County
The Doyle Creek (Travis Peak) Field will see the Chronister Heirs Well No. 2 drilled by XTO Energy 3.2 miles north of Wells in the John Durst Survey, A-15 to 13,500 feet. The well may also be drilled in the Doyle Creek (Pettit) Field.
Freestone County
XTO Energy will drill the Eppes Unit Well No. 5, and No. 6 and the Daugherty Gas Unit Well No. 1. The No. 5 and the No. 6 will hit 15,000 feet in the Bear Grass (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field and will lie in the Peck, N Survey, A-820. The wells may also be drilled in the Bear Grass (Pettit) Field or the Bear Grass (Travis Peak) Field. The No. 1 well is 13 miles north of Fairfield in the Nan-Su-Gail (Sub-Clarksville) Field. The well will hit 12,800 feet in the Bradley, J Survey, A-53 and may also be drilled in the Nan-Su-Gail (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field.
In a lease 6.1 miles northeast of Fairfield, in the Nan-Su-Gail (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field, the Wheeler, Joe Well No. 1H will be drilled by Marathon Oil. The well will hit 12,800 feet in the Oliver, WW Survey, A-485.
The Baum Estate Well No. 4 and the Ledbetter Gas Unit 2 Well No. 3 will be drilled by Valence Operating in the Teague (Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated) Field. The No. 4 well is 7.4 miles west of Fairfield in the Kyle, AS Survey, A-358 and will hit 12,500 feet. This well may also be drilled in the Teague (Travis Peak) Field. The No. 3 well is 2.9 miles southwest of Fairfield in the Cabler, FP Survey, A-114. Depth will be 13,500 feet.
In a lease three miles southeast of Donie, in the Bear Grass (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field, the Lovering, E.H. "A" Well No. 5 will be drilled by Anadarko Petroleum. This well will hit 15,000 feet in the Diaz, G Survey A-178 and may also be drilled in the Bear Grass (Travis Peak) Field.
Harrison County
Penn Virginia Oil & Gas will drill the Devon Gas Unit Well No. 9 and the No. 10 in a wildcat field. The wells will hit 13,000 feet in the Gillet, C Survey, A-9. The wells are 6.7 miles west of Marshall and may also be drilled in the Woodlawn, Southwest (Cotton Valley) Field.
Penn Virginia Oil & Gas will drill the Fogle Gas Unit Well No. 3 and No. 4 to 13,000 feet in the Wray, JS Survey, A-759. The No. 3 is 12.5 miles southeast of Marshall and the No. 4 is 12.3 miles southeast of Marshall, both in a wildcat field. The wells may also be drilled in the Hardwood (Cotton Valley) Field. The Brown Well No. 3 is 11 miles southeast of Marshall in the Hardwood (Cotton Valley) Field. This well will hit 13,000 feet in the Monday, S Survey A-14.
Henderson County
The Kirby Heirs Well No. 1 will be drilled 4.3 miles northeast of Athens, in a wildcat field. The well will be drilled to 13,000 feet by Decker Operating and will lie in the Henry, J JB Survey, A-332.
Nacogdoches County
In a lease four miles south of Cushing in the Trawick (Pettit) Field, the Avery Renee GU 1 Well No. 1 will be drilled by Samson Lone Star. The well will hit 12,000 feet in the Brewer, H Survey, A-11 and may also be drilled in the Trawick (Travis Peak) Field, a wildcat field or the Trawick (James) Field.
The Blount "A-1" Gas Unit Well No. 11 will be drilled 5.2 miles northwest of Garrison in the Appleby, North (Travis Peak) Field by EOG Resources. The well will hit 10,200 feet in the Parrott, PJ Survey, A-441. This well may also be drilled in the Appleby, North (Pettit) Field.
Samson Lone Star will drill the Diane Jones GU 1 Well No. 1 to 12,000 feet in the Little Ears (Pettit Lime) Field. The well is 0.5 miles south of Looneyville in the Aguilera, C Survey, A-3. The well may also be drilled in a wildcat field, the Miyagi (Pettit) Field or the Nacogdoches, East (James Lime) Field.
The Douglass, West (Travis Peak) Field will see the Schwiem Well No. 7 drilled by Comstock Oil & Gas to 11,500 feet in the J. Durst Survey, A-26. Location is one mile southwest of Douglass.
The McFaddin Well No. 1 is 10.1 miles southeast of Nacogdoches in the Raintree (Hosston) Field. The well will hit 13,000 feet in the Richards, G Survey, A-466 and may also be drilled in the Gates (Travis Peak) Field.
Panola County
The A. Williams Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 14 and No. 15 will be drilled by Penn Virginia Oil & Gas in the Carthage, North Field. The wells will hit 13,000 feet and are 5.6 miles southwest of Elysian Fields in the Peace, E Survey, A-1023.
Anadarko E&P will drill the Holmes, Priestly Unit Well No. 19H and the CGU 28 Well No. 15 in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field. The No. 19H is 5.6 miles southeast of Carthage in the Childress, HC Survey, A-136. The No. 15 is 7.1 miles southwest of Carthage in the Morris, J Survey, A-446. Both wells will hit 12,000 feet.
In a lease 7.2 miles southwest of Tatum, in the Beckville (Cotton Valley) Field, the Carter, KF WH "A2" GU Well No. A3 will be drilled by Goodrich Petroleum. The well will hit 11,000 feet in the Bowers, S Survey, A-101.
San Augustine County
The Martinsville, Southeast (James) Field will see the Timberstar-Davis Well No. 1H drilled by Southwestern Energy Production. The well is 14.5 miles northwest of San Augustine in the Davis, SA Survey, A-107. Depth will be 7,600 feet.
Shelby County
The Joaquin SWD Well No. 1 will be drilled 1.3 miles northeast of Joaquin in the Joaquin (Gloyd) Field. The well will hit 6,000 feet in the Dunahoe, PW Survey, A-970 drilled by Key Energy Services.
In a lease 8.4 miles southeast of Center in the Stockman (Cotton Valley) Field, the Hilton Well No. 5 will be drilled by Noble Energy. The well will hit 13,000 feet in the Buckley, J Survey, A-876 and may also be drilled in the Oliver Creek (Travis Peak) Field or a wildcat field.
Upshur County
Maximus Operating will drill the Malone Heirs Well No. 1 to 12,500 feet. The well is 9.2 miles northeast of Gilmer in a wildcat field. This well will lie in the Goy, J B Survey A-168 and may also be drilled in the Cedar Springs (Maddox 10730) Field or the Cedar Springs (Cotton Valley, Lower) Field.
The Eva O'Byrne Gas Unit Well No. 5 will be drilled three miles northeast of Gladewater in the Gladewater (Haynesville) Field. The well will hit 12,000 feet in the Pineda, JM Survey, A-386 drilled by Sojorner Drilling.

Anderson County
In a lease two miles west of Frankston in the Fairway Field, the Fairway (James Lime) Unit Well No. 152-2H was drilled by Hunt Oil. The well hit 12,086 feet and flowed with 73 barrels of crude per day on an 1-inch choke. Production is in the James Lime formation.
Freestone County
The Lane, T.W. Well No. 5 has been completed by Lacy Operations in the Mann, North Field to 9,805 feet 1.2 miles north of Kirvin. The well was gauged on an adjustable choke and potentialed 2.391 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. Production is in the Cotton Valley Sand formation.
Harrison County
When gauged on an adjustable choke, the Lewis Gas Unit "B" Well No. 8 potentialed 978,000 cubic feet of gas per day. The well is 1.6 miles southwest of Woodlawn in the Woodlawn Field. BP America Production completed the well to 10,105 feet. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.
Devon Energy Production has completed the Abney, C.M. "B" Well No. 18 in the Waskom Field. This well hit 9,584 feet and is 1.1 miles southwest of Waskom. When gauged on an adjustable choke, the well potentialed 352,000 cubic feet of gas per day. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.
Leon County
The Burleson, M.G. "A" Well No. 10 potentialed 2.400 million cubic feet of gas per day on a 48/64-inch choke. The well was completed by Anadarko Petroleum to 13,955 feet 4.8 miles northwest of Marquez in the Bear Grass Field. Production is in the Cotton Valley Consolidated formation.
Limestone County
When gauged on a 20/64-inch choke, the White, Lowell K. Gas Unit Well No. 1 potentialed 1.176 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. The well is 7.5 miles northeast of Kosse in the Personville, North Field. Samson Lone Star has completed the well to 11,365 feet. Production is in the Cotton Valley Consolidated formation.
Panola County
The Southland Paper Co. Unit Well No. 3-F is 14.5 miles east of Carthage in the Carthage Field. Chevron U.S.A. has completed the well to 9,975 feet. When gauged on an adjustable choke, the well potentialed 727,000 cubic feet of gas per day. Production is in the Travis Peak formation.
In a lease 9.9 miles northeast of Carthage, in the Carthage Field, the Mullins Well No. 7 has been completed by Devon Energy Production. The well hit 9,873 feet and potentialed 660,000 cubic feet of gas per day on an adjustable choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.
Robertson County
When gauged on a 22/64-inch choke, the T Bar X Smitherman Well No. 1 potentialed 2.384 million cubic feet of gas per day. The well is 4.1 miles north of Franklin in the Savell Field. Burlington Resources completed the well to 16,000 feet. Production is in the Bossier Sand formation.
Rusk County
The Oak Hill Field has seen the Toon GU 1 Well No. 12 completed by Samson Lone Star. The well is 9.5 miles southeast of Kilgore with 10,860 feet. The well potentialed 2.174 million cubic feet of gas per day on a 24/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.
San Augustine County
The Oglebee Well No. 1H has been drilled by St. Mary Land & Exploration in the Huxley Field to 7,828 feet 2.5 miles northwest of San Augustine. When gauged on a 48/64-inch choke, the well potentialed 95 barrels of crude per day. Production is in the 6100 formation.
Shelby County
Ellora Operating completed the Mathews Unit Well No. 3H to 11,860 feet 1.6 miles northwest of Dreka in the Huxley Field. The well potentialed 1.334 million cubic feet of natural gas per day on a 20/64-inch choke. Production is in the 6100 formation.
The Lynch Whiddon Well No. 3FH has been completed 4.2 miles northeast of Goober Hill in the Huxley Field. This well was completed to 7,869 feet by Ellora Operating. This well was gauged on a 36/64-inch choke and flowed with 87 barrels of crude per day. Production is in the Fredericksburg formation.
Smith County
When gauged on a 24/64-inch choke, the Woolf Gas Unit 1 Well No. 17 potentialed 2.341 million cubic feet of gas per day. The well is 1.4 miles south of Arp in the Overton Field. Southwestern Energy completed the well to 11,660 feet. Production is in the Cotton Valley Sand formation.

There have been 12 wells completed in the Van Field by Omni Oil & Gas two miles north of Van.
