East Texas Spirit Places First
The East Texas Spirit 96 Navy Girls soccer team of Tyler placed first in the Rose City Shootout Nov. 16-18 in Tyler. The squad won the U-12 competitive flight. They defeated Longview Elite 96, 2-1, in the semifinals; and the Waco United 96, 3-0, in the final. Team members are (front row, from left) Brittany Matthews, Kendall Wells; (second row) Gabby Lawyer, Lauren Morton, Emily Hawk, Laura Garcia, Taylor Ricketts, Ellie Parker, Haylie Dyess; (third row) Morgan Mills, Shreece Wall, Nicole Trpkosh, Coach Shawn Tatham, TyCember Jones, Hayden Langemeir, Kelcee Harwood and Cameron Spinks.
