Wade Tyler Locklear
Wade Tyler Locklear, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Locklear of Dallas, is a sophomore at University of Texas at Austin, where he is majoring in Business in the Red McCombs School of Business. Locklear is a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity where he served as pledge class president and assistant treasurer.
He is also a member of the Inter Fraternity Council where he is serving as assistant treasurer.
Locklear is a 2006 graduate of Plano West Senior High School in Plano, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society.
He was named a National Merit Commended Scholar, AP Scholar of Distinction and a Who's Who Among American High School Students. Locklear served as Class President for the Young Men's Service League and was a varsity basketball letterman.
Locklear is a member of the Parkway Hills Baptist Church in Plano and has participated in mission trips to Washington, DC, Brooklyn, New York and Colorado Springs, Colo.
Family members who have participated in past Rose Festivals include his mother, Melodye Butler Locklear, 1976 Duchess of the Rose Growers and cousin, Michelle Flowers Dial, 1986 Lady in Waiting.
