I can't recall the days when baseball players wore wool uniforms, basketball players wore short shorts and the Philadelphia Eagles wore those hideous monstrosities they raised from the dead on Sunday.

Thank goodness. The Eagles can send those things back from wherever they dug them up.

Fashion has become so intertwined with sports nowadays. We've witnessed star players advertise Armani suits and even a high-profile designer, Mark Ecko, take hold of Barry Bonds' 756th home run ball and let its fate be decided by an online vote.

Now I'm no fashion guru and I definitely don't shop at Saks or Barney's. But I do know which uniforms are sharp and which ones are not.

I spent time looking at picture after picture of team uniforms in the three major sports, trying hard to narrow it down to the best looking 10.

It was difficult, but here are the rankings for the top 10 best looking uniforms in pro baseball, basketball and football:

The Mavs tried that one-game experience with those awful-looking, shiny, silver numbers a few years ago. It's good they found something as good looking as these. The font on the jerseys is one of the best around.

The chemistry between the tomahawk and the Braves script is awesome. It fits perfect on the grey jersey. You can't beat the hats either.

A classic example of a great-looking uniform. The white on blue with one of the best looking helmets in the league equals a sharp uni.

Another uniform that makes it because of its simplicity and classic value. The blue jerseys are sharp, too, but we all know 'Boys fans are terrified of those.

Easily the best looking uniform in The League. The transition from the old, nasty look to these was revolutionary. Having King James wear this uniform is a good thing, too.

Home or away, this is awesome attire. The dark blue, baby blue and white all work together perfectly. I'm partial to the darker jerseys but both are sweet.

New England has the complete package: dark blue jersey, light pants and one of the best-looking helmets in the league.

You starting to notice that good teams wear the best uniforms?

The dark blue and orange work perfectly together. Even the white road unis are sweet, but the home look is almost unbeatable. I'm glad the Broncos made the change years ago.

Retro is in, and there's no beating the Yankees pinstripes. The look will never get old and when you hear "pinstripes," you think New York Yankees. Also the best-looking hat in the majors.

I love the powder blues, too, but the Chargers' new uniforms are the best I've ever seen in any sport. The number font is sweet ... the entire jersey is sweet. I love the white helmets with the lightning bolt.

So there you have it. I've got to hand out honorable mention awards to the Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers, Arizona Diamondbacks (alternate red) and the Milwaukee Brewers.

The NFL seems to dominate the market, the fans and everything else nowadays. Why not the uniforms, too?
