Martha Louise Boyd
Martha Louise Boyd is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter M. Boyd of Tyler. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Babb and the late Rosemary Babb of Tyler. She attended Vanderbilt University as a freshman, transferring to The University of Texas at Austin in the fall of 2007. She is a sophomore majoring in English. Miss Boyd is a member of Pi Beta Phi fraternity for women and was named to the Dean’s List for the fall and spring semesters while at Vanderbilt University. She served as philanthropy chairman for her pledge class, was a member of Commodores in the Community and attended the Reformed University Fellowship (RUF).
Miss Boyd graduated from All Saints Episcopal School in Tyler where she was named a National Merit Commended Scholar and served as an officer of the National Honor Society. She was on the varsity golf team, debate team and was involved with Student Government. She was a member of the Junior Symphony League and received the Windsor Distinguished Service Award as a senior. She is a member of Christ Episcopal Church where she served as an acolyte. She attended Camp Waldemar for girls where she was Aztec Leader her senior year. She was a scepter bearer for the 1995 Rose Queen Martha Lindsey Wolf Bigbie and a junior hostess for the Queen’s Tea. Relatives who have participated in past Rose Festivals include her mother, Dorinda Babb Boyd, 1975 Lady-in-Waiting, 1993 Wardrobe Assistant Chairman, 1994 Marketing Committee Co-Chairman, 1995 Rose Show Chairman, 1999 Coronation Assistant Chairman, 1996 Royalty Chairman, and 1998 Publicity Chairman; her father, Peter M.
