Beautiful Garden Grasses

The weather lately has been absolutely amazing for gardening.
These cool mornings cause eager gardeners like me to get out early and work for hours, trying to make up for all those days of constant rain.
We are having to make up for lost time and to spend many hours weeding and mulching, as well as removing overgrown plants, and putting in new ones we hope will do better.
Two I would like to suggest -- lacy sedum and lariope (monkeygrass) -- are grass-like in effect, and will add color and variety to the landscape mix.
I am having to remove the beautiful, lacy sedum from one area, because it was just too successful and was growing into and over the lariope I wanted to be along the border in that area.

GRASSY LOOK: If you are looking for another plant for your garden, check out the prairie grass.
Some plants do well in an area in a dry season, but are just too aggressive in a rainy one like we have had this year.
Perhaps that is one of the aspects of gardening we like so much, the challenge of finding just the right plant for an area - one that will live through all the possible seasons and conditions with as little work on our part as possible.
